Speaking after the game manger Tommy Widdrington revealed his disappointment at not keeping a clean sheet.
“I would loved to have finished the game with nil, I thought we deserved it. I thought Craig (deserved it) He made one excellent save in the first-half to keep it at 0-0 but that was one of the very few opportunities that they had.”
Despite that the manager was delighted that the result matched the performance, something that has not always happened this season.
“A result like that has been coming for a while, he said, “I look at the players in training and I can see their technical ability and the way they play football in training sessions, all we have to do is to transfer that to a match.
Today we were faster, sharper and probably a bit better technically and the right result has come out today.”
He described his overriding emotion as one of “satisfaction” and on his two-goal hero Simon Johnson he added.
“He’s going to have to be careful as he’s going to have the goal of the season wrapped up by Christmas with the goals he’s scoring!”
