Goalkeeper Danny Potter has returned to Eastbourne Borough and will go straight into the side for tonight’s Sussex Senior Cup clash with Hassocks.
Potter, 33, was signed by Tommy Widdrington from Staines Town at the start of the season.
He made seven appearances for the Sports and was expected to play a key role as the club’s goalkeeping coach.
However, the former Cambridge United stopper left Priory Lane due to personal reasons and returned to Suffolk.
He joined his local Ryman League outfit Leiston FC and once again made seven appearances before deciding to leave and re-join Widdrington’s men.
The Borough boss said, “ I’m delighted that we can welcome Danny back.
“It’s no secret Danny was a big part of my plans both on and off the field but we did not feel we could stand in his way when off field issues took a toll on his position here earlier in the season.
“With the issues resolved, I am pleased that we made such an impression on Danny that he his happy to return - and I am equally pleased to have him back with his undoubted quality and to add some stability to the vital goalkeeping position.”
Kick-off against Hassocks at Priory Lane tonight is at 7.45pm.
