Eastbourne Borough may have to fight off some stiff competition if they want to keep loanee goalkeeper Mitchell Walker (pictured) at Priory Lane.

The young shot-stopper, who’s on loan until the end of the season from Brighton and Hove Albion, has also attracted interest from Dover Athletic, who sent their scouts to watch him during Borough’s match at home to Thurrock on Tuesday. Widdrington said, “Mitch has done very well for us while he’s been here.

“We’ll see out the rest of the season with him and then assess the situation.”

The 20-year-old joined the club on March 1, making his debut in Borough’s 2-0 victory away at Truro. His place in the starting line-up meant Rikki Banks was moved to the bench, although he later joined Hendon FC on a month-long loan deal.

Goalkeeper Clark Masters remains at the club. He last featured during the Sussex Senior Cup sem-final defeat against Crawley Down.
