Eastbourne Borough welcomed two new faces into the starting line-up on Saturday in Craig Ross and Elliott Charles, both of which had pivotal roles in the side’s 1-0 victory over Truro.
Ross has joined the Sports on an initial one-month loan spell from Cambridge United to take the place of Nick Jordan, who hurt his shoulder in training during the week.
The shot-stopper is the fourth man to appear between the sticks for Borough so far this season. However he dominated the box and kept a clean sheet against the Blue Square Bet strugglers.
Charles, a 22-year-old Grenadian International who started his career at Barnet, impressed during the two matches he played against Borough in the FA Cup for Hendon and has joined to bolster the Sports’ strike-force after netting 11 times in 24 outings for his former club.
Tommy Widdrington said, “We were forced into making the change in goal with Jordan’s injury but we were delighted Ross kept a clean sheet for us today.
“Charles impressed me when he faced us and I hope he can bring to our team what he brought to them.
“I have to keep making changes to the team. Anwar Uddin needed a break this week and we were able to bring in the players to ably cover that position, which is pleasing.”
