Eastbourne Borough have signed Crawley Town striker Jonte Smith on an initial one-month loan spell.
The 18-year-old attacker signed a professional contract for the Red Devils at the end of the 2011/12 season after moving to the country from his native Bermuda to persue a career in football.
For the first three months of the current campaign, the 6ft 1 teenager was scoring goals on loan for Ryman Premier Division outfit Met Police, netting 24 goals in just 19 games.
On his return, he was rewarded with a place on the bench for League One side, making his domestic debut as a substitute versus Bournmouth in December.
The striker today penned a deal to bring him to Priory Lane to try and help solve the Sports’ severe lack of goals.
Boss Tommy Widdrington said, “He is someone I’ve been aware of and in fact trying to bring to the club since before Christmas.
“He has been a regular in the first team squad after returning from a successful period while out on loan at Met Police, where his goal scoring prowess came to prominence.
“We obviously thank the staff at Crawley Town and wish Jonte all the very best during his time at the Lane.”
