Eastbourne Borough manager Tommy Widdrington heaped praise on the his young side after they booked their place in the Sussex Senior Cup final.
Borough refused to let their heads drop after they let an early two-goal lead slip and fought back to win 3-2 in extra-time thanks to a header from Elliott Romain.
Widdrington said, “We had to win the game twice. I have to give my boys a lot of credit for the character they showed and for the strong finish.
“It would have been easy for the lads to drop their heads but they kept going and showed great resolve.
“Bognor are a very good side and you can see why they have beaten many teams from a higher level in their cup competitions. It was a great game for the neutral and I’m delighted we came out on top.
“To reach the final at the AMEX in our 50th year is very special for us. But now that we are there, we want to go on and win the thing.”
