Busy week on and off the pitch for Borough boss

It was a busy weekend for Eastbourne Borough manager Tommy Widdrington on and off the pitch.

After watching his side narrowly lose to play-off chasing Eastleigh on Saturday, Widdrington dashed back to the south coast for Sunday’s Eastbourne half-marathon.

Accompanied by Alan Kimble, Tommy’s assistant coach, the pair ran the seafront track to raise money for Cancer Research.

Widdrington said, “We were aiming for 2:15 but started quickly and got off ever so well. We ended up finishing the course in 1:53:37.”

Turning his attention to football, Eastbourne Borough have two vital matches at Priory Lane this week. On Tuesday the Sports welcome Dorchester Town followed by Farnborough at the weekend.

The manager remains positive after a good performance against Eastleigh where on another day Borough could have come away with three points. Tommy has also looked to strengthen his squad by signing three players on loan.

Alex Wynter, who joined on a one-month loan from Crystal Palace last week and slotted straight into the starting line-up last Saturday.
