Eastbourne Borough have retained the services of influential midfielder Simon Johnson for the 2013-14 season.
The popular midfielder impressed the management team at Borough last season with his consistent and versatile performances.
The club were keen to tie up a deal for the 23-year-old who has made 169 appearances for the Sports and will provide a boost for Borough fans following the recent departure of Danny Potter.
Boss Tommy Widdrington said,”I’m sure everyone connected with The Sports will be as pleased as I am with this news.
“Having firstly shown his commitment and then versatility when I first arrived, I feel his consistency levels were a major factor in him scooping The Supporters Player of The Year Award last season.
“His effort and work rate wherever he played were excellent.”
Following the ‘retirement’ of Darren Baker Johnson now leads the way in appearances.
The club have been working feverishly behind the scenes to add to squad for the 2013-14 season and Widdrington hopes to announce furthers signings in the coming days.
