Eastbourne Borough have cancelled the contract with Barbuda and Antigua international striker James Walker by mutual consent.
Walker played a key role in Borough’s 1-0 victory in Farnborough on Saturday but following discussions with the club this week his contract was terminated due to personal reasons.
Manager Tommy Widdrington said, “Family must always come before football. We wish him well and good luck, and thank him for his contribution to our season. The door is open for James to contact us when the time is right for him.”
Walker was getting close to his best form once again having recovered from a long-term knee-injury sustained in October while on international duty in a World Cup qualifier.
Walker made 16 appearances for the Sports and scored three goals.
