Borough manager Tommy Widdrington was delighted with his side’s performance at one of the Vanarama South’s big-hitters.

While Ebbsfleet were tipped for big things prior to the season, Widdrington’s players outlined exactly why they are still in the play-off mix themselves.

“We played really well and you could see it was two good sides,” he said.

“Although there were no goals both teams played on the front foot and I don’t think many teams will get anything at Ebbsfleet.

“A point against any team in this league is a good result.”

Widdrington described the penalty awarded to the home side as “dubious” but praised keeper Lewis Carey for saving it.

“I wasn’t sure about it but he’s guessed right and shown that he’s a strong lad.”
