Eastbourne Borough boss Tommy Widdrington was pleased with his players ahead of Saturday’s home clash with Ebbsfleet (Saturday 3pm).
Speaking after victory against Hayes and Yeading on Tuesday, he said, “Collectively we’ve popped the ball about again today. In some circumstances to a better level than we’re playing at as a football club,” he said after the game.
“That said, we do need to score more goals for the amount of possession and the chances we create.”
Simon Johnson might have made the score more convincing after missing a few chances but the boss was quick to jump to his defence. People said Johnno had curly boots on. Every time he hit a shot it just went wide. Last year everything was flying in for him but his exuberance and energy in forward areas is excellent.”
