Eastbourne Borough Football Club has sold its entire 1,500 ticket allocation for the Sussex Senior Cup final on July 16, the first match to be played at Brighton & Hove Albion’s new Amex Stadium.
Ticket demand has been brisk since they first went on sale two weeks ago and it means Borough are likely to have their largest-ever travelling support for the game.
Chairman Len Smith said, “We’ve had people come in and we’ve had to turn them away, which is a shame. We’re very happy though that there’s so many people who want to come.
“The vast majority are Eastbourne people and Borough supporters but I’m sure some are coming because of the Amex factor.
“ I hope anyone watching us for the first time will be impressed with our play and will want to come again, to Priory Lane.”
The club’s commercial department has also reported strong season ticket sales and local businesses were quick off the mark yesterday to snap up match sponsorship packages just hours after the fixtures for the season were officially released.
Commercial manager Lorna Gosling said, “I’m really pleased with how the sponsorship is going, with four matches being sponsored on the day the fixtures were announced.
“Season tickets are continuing to sell well – in fact, we’re on target to sell more than last year. The junior supporters’ schemes are also proving very popular and excellent value for money.”
