Albion have failed to win any of their last eight matches in all competitions, which has seen them drop from top of the Championship to sixth and also exit the FA Cup.

Brighton travel to Blackburn on Saturday and Bruno said: “We need to change this bad run as soon as possible. The most important thing when you’re in a position like this is to just to go back to the basics and then I think we can do it.

“We are in a bad run but we can turn it around, we have some home games coming up and, hopefully, we can go on a nice run.”

After a 21-game unbeaten start to the season, the Seagulls have lost four out of five matches since and Bruno said: “It’s surprising because we have a lot of the same players. It’s not about excuses, it’s about actions we now take.

“It’s not just a surprise for us, it’s a surprise for the fans as well. This league is about small details and we have to change them and push hard so we can win as soon as possible.

“It’s not about how many games we were unbeaten and now not having won in several games. It’s time for the experienced players to step in and help.”
