Borough plan to come out fighting against Wealdstone

Borough, who are fourth from bottom in the table and two points above the drop zone, welcome Wealdstone to Priory Lane tomorrow and victory would see them leap-frog their 16th-placed opponents in the league standings.

Borough, who lost 4-1 against AFC Fylde in the FA Trophy last Saturday, have not won in the league since their impressive 3-0 triumph at Chelmsford City on November 21.

They have, however, enjoyed favourable cup results with a 4-0 win against Hayes and Yeading and a crazy 7-4 victory against Hemel Hempstead Town. Agutter said, “We know what we are capable of and we have every faith this group of players can improve our league position.

“Obviously we were disappointed (after the FA Trophy result) but we are a confident group. Fylde were a very good side that have been together for a long while. They are looking to progress and they are a little further down the track in their progression.”

He added, “We have games in hand and the table is a false reading. I understand why a few supporters are frustrated and they are all entitled to their opinions. But there is no negativity from our part and we will continue to stick together and be positive.

“We are always at our best when we are on the front foot and attacking and that is how we will approach the Wealdstone game.”

Defenders Ian Simpemba and Marvin Hamilton are suspended but Jack Evans returns. On Tuesday, Borough are in Senior Cup action at Littlehampton.
