Seb Rodger gets the good news

Rodger ran his heat in a time of 49.54 and just missed out on the fastest losers qualification by an agonising one thousandths of a second.

However, he actually joined fellow Brit Jack Green in the semis as a disqualification bumped Rodger up into the faster losers list.

Nothing about this Olympic Games has been easy for Rodger. He qualified at the last minute after missing out on selection for the European Championships and now he has scrapped through to semis.

The semi-finals will be held on Wednesday, August 17 at 1.40am.
