SUSSEX CRICKET LEAGUE: Fixtures decimated by rain

The Sussex Cricket League was a victim of the rain this weekend with only 11 games completed in all divisions.

In the Premier League, the only finished game was a draw between Hastings and Roffey.

Roffey batted first and scord 254-5 thanks to 97 from Rohit Jagota and 83 from skipper Josh Fleming.

In reply Hastings totalled 201-7 with Harry Finch (64) and Leo Cammish (73) the main contributors.

In division 2, three games were completed.

Billingshurst completed a comprehensive 162 run win against Chichester Priory Park. Billingshurst batted first and scored 232-8dec with Scott Stratton (64) and Mike Burroughs (86) top scoring. Matt Geffen took 4-78 for Chichester.

In reply Chichester capitulated to 70 all out. Dhanushka Mitipolaarachchi took 4-5, Andy Barr 3-29 and Ben Williams 2-5 for Billingshurst.

St James Montefiore beat Goring By Sea by 96 runs. St James batted first and scored 203-7 with contributions from Adam Davies (62), Harry Rollins (39) and Mali Richards (23). Ellis Woolley was the pick of the Goring bowlers taking 5-65.

In reply, Shane de Beer top scored with 23 as they were bowled out for 107 thanks to Richards (3-24), Michael Murray (3-23) and Mike Edmonds (2-15).

Middleton beat Findon by three wickets. Glen Bridson hit 77no and John Rogers 44 for Findon in a total of 164 all out. Harry Metters took 4-63 for Findon but Middleton managed to get home.

The only game in Division 3 saw Haywards Heath beat Pulborough. In a game, reduced to 38/32 over game due to rain after 7 overs, match resumed at 3.50pm, Heath openers Shahed Shams 49 and Isaac Leckie 35 and stand in skipper Dan Strange 27 helped Heath to 182-7 after allocated overs. For Pulborough, Imran Khan took 4-21 In reply, an amazing innings from overseas Saurabh Tiawni as he smashed 114 (8x6 and 5x4) out of total 152 but Heath took six wickets in last seven overs to win a thriller by 30 runs with one ball to spare.

Opening bowlers Ryan Brown 5-72 and Jethro Menzies 4-23 sealed the 30 points for Haywards Heath.

In Division 4, Steyning (221-9) beat Hellingly (122 all out) by 99 runs. Ed Lamb hit 53 for Steyning while Adam Devlin took 4-65 for Hellingly.

In reply on Steve Hook (40) contributed as Ben Shelford (4-32) and Andy Isaacs (5-44) ripped through the Hellingly line-up.

Wisborough Green (204-5) drew with Lewes Priory (127-9). James Self with 54 and Ben Thatcher with 17 overs 4-29 also, for Wisborough Green.

In the 2 XI Division 2, Chichester Priory Park (238 all out) beat Pagham (105 all out) by 133 runs. Jonathon Heaven hit 93 and Jolyon Dannatt 85 for Chichester. Heaven contributed with the ball taking 4-26.

2nd XI Division 3 (West) saw three games completed. Bognor Regis beat Crawley Eagles, Pulborough drew with Slinfold and Steyning beat Slinfold.
