Boro land five figure windfall

Eastbourne Borough have landed a five-figure windfall. Hailsham Roadway Construction has become their main sponsors in a one-year deal.

Hailsham Roadways, whose annual turnover is in excess of 6m, will replace previous main sponsors Town Flats & Town Property.

The company's name will be displayed on Borough home shirts in their debut season in the Blue Square Premier.

Borough chairman Len Smith said, "This is a great partnership.

Hailsham Roadways have built a highly successful and respected company and we are delighted they have agreed to team up with us for our first season at the highest possible level of non-league football.

"These are exciting times not only for Eastbourne Borough but football in the area and our participation in the Conference will bring publicity for the town of Eastbourne and Hailsham Roadways.

"They have supported us for many years and we are pleased that this association has given them the confidence to become main club sponsor."

Hailsham Roadways managing director Geoff Field said, "With the current economic climate in free fall the acquisition of profitable investment opportunities are thin on the ground.

"Becoming the Eastbourne Borough FC main club sponsor was considered to be a unique investment opportunity not to be missed."

Eastbourne Borough's match with Stevenage Borough on Sunday, October 12 (1.30pm) will be screened live on Setanta Television.

Up to 12 cameras will be used at Priory Lane, including one in the dressing room.

The fixture was originally due to be played on the Saturday (October 11).
