I NOTE that the latest Conservative newsletter talks of “freezing or even reducing the current expenses available to councillors”.
Is this the same party that voted to double the expenses, and would have done so if they had won the last election?
Luckily the Liberal Democrats won and froze the expenses.
This interesting epistle also states that reducing the number of councillors, which only Parliament can do, actually “could potentially” save Eastbourne council taxpayers “almost” £100,000.
Could whoever dreamt up this nice little figure kindly inform the Herald how this was compiled?
I look forward to next week’s letters page.
