ONCE again, the readership of the Herald have come up trumps! After the appeal for duvet covers in the January 14 edition, we have had yet another amazing response.
More than 150 duvet covers, around 90 blankets, dozens of towels, 50 or so sheets and just under 100 duvets have been delivered or collected in the past weeks.
The majority of the covers are now at our rehoming kennels at Albourne and are being put to good use protecting duvets.
I also thank Dunelm Mills for the donation which, so far, has resulted in £96 being passed over to the Trust with more to come.
I have a problem which I’m sure a company or reader can help with. Most of the duvets and many other items are stored here in Eastbourne but need transporting to Albourne. If anyone has a large van and would kindly donate a round trip from Whitley Road to Albourne, around 80 miles, to deliver the items, would they kindly contact me on 640387.
I once again pass the Trust’s thanks to all the kind people who have made the hounds lives a lot more comfortable while they wait to be rehomed.
Our monthly greyhound walks still take place at Hampden Park on the first Saturday of every month, meeting near the cafe at 2pm and all greyhounds are welcome. More information on how to adopt these regal dogs and details of our events can be obtained via www.brighton.retiredgreyhounds.co.uk
