WHILE we hear so many stories of bad practice and complaints about the NHS and dealing with elderly patients, I felt for once I must redress the balance.
My 86-year-old mother Mrs. Edna Morris was recently admitted to the DGH via the A and E Department and spent one week in the MAU and two weeks in Folkington Ward. She has since been moved to Pentlow Nursing Home.
Our family felt that she was treated with care, consideration and dignity all the time she was in the DGH.
The staff were excellent, and whilst I know that good press is rarely printed I would be grateful if you will pass on our thanks through your letters column.
