Top marks for enlivening letters

TOP marks to M Rasala. His spoof letter achieved its aim: to make the lively letters page in the Herald even livelier.

I am reminded of Col. Jervais D’Archy-Wilkes.

In 1999 and 2000 he used to write spoof letters to the Herald all about his Rolls Royce and how important he was.

I have to confess I once wrote as Mrs Mildred Barker stating I was his sister and that he had a Mini, not a Rolls.

He replied in strong terms stating he had no siblings and I was stating untruths.

All harmless and good fun in these days of economic gloom.
