Think about other road users

IN response to Sandra Isted’s letter regarding the delays to motorists caused by the installation of a new pelican crossing at the junction of Cross Levels Way and Lottbridge Drove, I would like her to think of cyclists, pedestrians and wheelchair users who regularly use this dangerous crossing.

I am a cyclist who has used this crossing since its inception during my 17 years at the D.G.H.

A few years ago I approached the County Council at Lewes to request that a pedestrian crossing be put there.

The reply was that there had to be a fatality before it would be considered.

Thank goodness the County Council has seen sense to install this pelican crossing before a fatality occurred.
