The county council’s mysterious web filter

I recently reported a non-working street light to East Sussex County Council. As they rely on input from the public to inform them of these things, it wasn’t going to repair itself.

To their credit, within two days of receiving my email, the light was repaired.

However. It wasn’t easy to get to inform them of this.

Looking through the ESCC website, I clicked onto the part which directed you to reporting broken streetlights.

This sent me to a blank search page and so I had to find the correct email address through other means.

Most ironically of all, could I ask the library service to not have web filters on such a strict setting? The reason being that if you put ‘East Sussex County Council’ into a search, it blocks the term as it contains the word ‘sex’!
