FURTHER to our appeal back in October for duvets for the Retired Greyhounds Trust awaiting rehoming at the trust kennels at Albourne, I’m pleased to advise we had around 100 duvets donated by the kind readers of the Eastbourne Herald.
Special thanks to the Lansdowne Hotel for their donation.
The duvets, along with blankets, towels, sheets and covers were delivered to the kennels by the time the cold and snowy weather closed in.
What a Godsend they have been. Each kennel homing two greyhounds has had three duvets placed on the bed. With the extreme cold and snow, the hounds were able to snuggle into the duvets and keep reasonably warm. Some of the hounds decided it would be fun to rip open the duvets and spread the contents liberally around the kennel!
The few covers we had were put to good use in preventing further destruction!
However, some of the covers have also been torn and are of no further use. Can I appeal again to the readership that if anyone has duvet covers which are no longer of use, for example themed ones now out of fashion, of any size, would they kindly contact me, the chairman of Brighton RGT Supporters Team on Eastbourne 640387 when arrangements for delivery or collection can be made. Duvets, blankets, towels and sheets will still be gratefully received.
