Students’ fury wrongly directed

Frank Carstairs (Gazette letters January 12) quotes “chapter and verse” regarding the EU Directive which has compelled the government to raise tuition fees.

What a pity the students seemed totally unaware of this, and directed their anger towards what purports to be the government of this country instead of concentrating their fury on our real masters in Brussels.

Incidentally, the saving of some £8 billion per year (our budget contribution) by leaving the EU, would be sufficient to give every student the free education they desire, and still leave enough to fill the pot holes in our roads, which are increasingly resembling those of a third world country!
