I NOTE in Juliet Perry’s report on the wind turbine proposal near Polegate that more than 500 hundred representations have been submitted to the Wealden District Council.
I think we can safely presume the vast majority will be objections. It seems any development, however useful for the future of our country or mankind as a whole, brings our the “Not In My Back Yard” response.
I wonder if these NIMBYs will be willing at some future date, when the sea floods Devonshire and Sovereign wards, to welcome us refugees to come and set up camp in those very same back yards they now seek to protect.
Surely putting up with a few, not unattractive, wind turbines is a small contribution that these people can make to the future wellbeing of us all.
