If you did not get to Gildredge Park over the Bank Holiday weekend then you missed a treat. To promote Eastbourne Ancestors, the Museum Service, with the enactment group Regia Angolorum, created a tented Saxon village at the tennis court end of the park. The Saxons, all dressed authentically, showed various activities, including wood carving, net making, embroidery, weaving and cookery. There were also warriors practising their skills and a full armed battle to round things off.
The Saxon village was great fun for all the family your team for this brilliant, free event.
