Political point scoring over the trains

I was amused to see Bob Lacey’s “political point scoring” letter in your September issue 6.

As a regular commuter to London for over 27 years I have never experienced these “normal journey times” of an hour an a quarter from Eastbourne to London. I challenge him to produce a timetable proving me wrong!

I suspect that he will not be able to back up his claims. It is unfortunate that some people will believe his claims are true.

So what is he actually doing about getting improvements? At least the Lib Dems are in talks with the appropriate people, although I know that significant improvements are unlikely without multi-million pound investment on the entire route to improve capacity and speeds.
