Pedestrian could slip on mud into the road

I read with interest Annemarie Field’s article in last week’s Herald regarding cash for dropped kerbs.

I myself have telephoned East Sussex Highways department regarding the very large puddle which forms after heavy rain on the pavement between the two large trees in Kings Drive opposite the junction of Selmeston Road.

To avoid the puddle, most pedestrians have to walk over a stretch of mud. Persons with buggies have to walk through the deep puddle.

An attempt was made by the department two to three years ago after my initial inquiry to remedy the situation but it was not a thorough job.

I stated that should an unfortunate accident occur by someone slipping off the mud into the road, I would contact the Herald.
