Parking charges are killing the local economy

I was disappointed, yet unsurprised to read the Eastbourne Herald article that further parking charges are on their way.

When parking meters where first introduced in Eastbourne, they were mothballed for six months while Eastbourne council, and the East Sussex council fought long legal battles as to who got the revenue. Both sides paid for the fight with taxpayers money.

Parking charges are just another tax that is killing the local economy. Rid Eastbourne streets of parking meters!
