Orchestra’s sublime concert

THROUGH the courtesy of your columns, may I be permitted to commend the series of concerts presently being given by the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Congress Theatre.

On Sunday the Orchestra, under the sublime baton of Principal Conductor Vladimir Jurowski, was positively on fire with a particularly brilliant soloist in pianist Alon Goldstein.

If I never experience music-making as good as this again - and I do not expect to - I shall die a happy man.

No wonder the LPO deserves to be numbered amongst the best in the world; and we in Eastbourne, while applauding their joyous talent, should feel deeply privileged that they come to visit us.
