WE ARE privileged to live in a beautiful part of the country, with the South Downs on our doorstep, and, like many local residents, I like to get out there and enjoy the countryside.
However, I am appalled by the number of plastic bags I have seen, containing dog mess, that have been thrown into the undergrowth or bushes by dog owners on the South Downs Way and, particularly, on the approach to Butts Brow.
I really cannot understand the mentality of those who take a plastic bag with them, when walking their dog, pick up the dog’s mess and then discard the bag.
You’re fouling up our environment so, come on dog owners, take it home with you or, at the very least, leave it on the ground so it can bio degrade!
