Little short of vindictive

Since the parking charges were introduced, my wife and I do our shopping away from the town centre – purely to avoid parking charges.

Whilst I am in favour of parking restrictions adjacent to the Framfield Way shops, the proposals for Burton Road and Pococks Road would appear to be nothing short of a vindictive attack on workers at the DGH. There appears to be no operational reason for the restrictions to be put in place. Provided that the car is legally parked I see no reason for further action.

The parking review has, as at September 30, cost £422,800 with over a quarter of a million pounds spent on consultants and yet more costs will be incurred before the changes are advertised and put in place.

Obviously money isn’t tight at ESCC!
