An open letter to Eastbourne MP Caroline Ansell:
My son is 27-years-old, and has dyspraxia, Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. He is labelled a special needs adult.
Despite this he wants to lead a normal life, live on his own, and is desperate to contribute to society by working in as many ways as possible. For a number of years he worked for the council-funded Zest car wash, based at County Hall in Lewes. It was a brilliant idea for disabled people to work at but the funding was cut by the Tory-led council. You have voted to cut disabled allowance by £30, thereby stopping my son from attending his day centre to be retrained! You come from a caring profession, I believe teaching, and your Government makes a big issue of work and pay, of raising low self-esteem. Can you please explain your actions to every disabled person, and my son.
