The word ‘vibrant’ was one word used to describe Eastbourne seafront on the Saturday of the Airbourne show - but to some it was a nightmare. We were barely able to move around.
Airbourne was an obvious success in terms of the amount of visitors. However, I am still sceptical as to how much money they spend at this ‘free’ show. Yes, the publicity is good for the town but could we be clear in these days of cutbacks just how much the council pays to get all these planes in the air over four days please?
Regarding the headline ‘Anger at vendor selling mock guns’ [Herald, August 21], is someone forgetting that they came to watch war planes equipped to drop bombs and missiles on our enemies? What’s the difference?
