Eastbourne’s beach is one of its best features and I am passionate about keeping it clean for all to use. This event will help raise the profile of our coastline and empower people to get involved in protecting our environment.
I am pleased to say volunteers on the day already include the staff of local independent businesses Eighteen 12, Old Dave’s Gourmet Burgers and Spray Water Sports as well as Eastbourne Bonfire Society; and Eastbourne Borough Council’s Customer First Team will also be lending a hand including supplying bin bags and litter pickers.
But the more volunteers we have the better so I am calling for as many locals as possible to get involved by meeting us outside Spray Water Sports in Royal Parade at 12 noon on Sunday March 22. I hope to see you there. The Big Spring Beach Clean is a campaign set up by Surfers against Sewage to encourage volunteers across the UK to help keep their beaches clean. Eastbourne will be one of the first beaches to benefit this year by holding their event a week before the official launch on Friday, March 27.
