As the UKIP group leader on Polegate Town Council I would like to extend, on behalf of all the UKIP councillors, a sincere thanks to those who voted for us in the 2015 District and Town elections.
It is with some pride that we can count 2,144 town council votes and 1,593 district council votes.
It was only by a whisker that the Polegate UKIP candidates missed out on gaining seat on Wealden District Council.
It is notable that it is only in Polegate that UKIP has had a breakthrough with all three candidates being elected to office. We have firm backing for the local manifesto we put forward and look forward to working with all the representation on the council in implementing it. We will also be holding our district and county councillors to account on behalf of the people of Polegate.
With regards to UKIP, and recent news headlines, we wish people to bear in mind that UKIP is still very much a work in progress. It is neither Right wing, or Left Wing; UKIP is pragmatic and pro-Britain. If you believe in a bright ambitious future for our country then please get involved and have your say.
Locally those wishing to join UKIP in making Polegate a better place, and get involved in shaping UKIP as we move forward, please contact one of the UKIP councillors on the Polegate Town Council website.
