LETTER: Slap on the wrist didn’t work for cyclists

It would appear that a slap on the wrist and saying sorry to the little girl knocked down last week on the sea front has not worked.

I walked along there yesterday (Sunday) and in the same area she was knocked down adults were still riding bikes. Also an equally danger was adults on rollers skates, one riding backwards and skate boards.

The only way to curb this is fine them heavily and make sure its put in the paper that they have been fined.

Also where are the reported sea front patrols to make sure that bikers do not ride illegally I have lived in the area for over 10 years and I have yet to see anyone or a biker told to get off his bike.

As I have said before there will be more accidents like this if drastic action is not taken. Let’s prevent accidents before they happen and not wait for them to happen before action is taken.
