LETTER: Seaford link to family history hunt

I live in Adelaide in Australia, and I am researching my family tree.

I’m researching the names Evans, Attfield and Hollingshead. I’m hoping your newspaper may have a human interest column where my letter could be published, in the hope that a distant relative may read it and be able to contact me. My grandfather was William Thomas Evans, born in 1858 in Birmingham. As an adult he moved to Australia, but I believe his brothers and sisters remained in the Birmingham area. One of my grandfather’s brothers was Joseph Josiah Evans b.1860 d.1907.

He married Annie Bardley in 1887. Their children were Lily, Grace, Frances, Jessie, Harriet and Gwendoline. I have been unable to trace the other children, but I know that Frances was born in 1899. In 1924 Frances married Harry Hollingshead and they had a daughter Barbara. Barbara married Arthur Attfield in 1946. I have lost trace after this but I would be interested to know if Barbara had children/grandchildren. If so, I would very much like to contact them for the purpose of Family Tree research. The last known address I had for Barbara was 11 Bye Down, Off Sutton Grove, Seaford. East Sussex. In the hope that a distant relative of the family may read it and then be able to contact me.
