Today I had the pleasure of taking my father, a wartime veteran of the RAF, to Airbourne.
It was a brilliant show and the people of Eastbourne should be proud of having such a great event.
However, when I returned to my car I was shocked to find I had fallen victim to one of the gangs of officials who were plastering cars with parking tickets.
Surely, on such a popular occasion attracting thousands of people, when it is virtually impossible to find a parking space within walking distance of the event, the parking rules should be relaxed.
As it is, the action taken by the parking authorities reeks of being a money-grabbing exercise, taking advantage of the visitors to the show and brings no credit to the people of Eastbourne.
My father suggests that the money grabbed by the parking ‘blitz’ should be donated to the RAF Benevolent Fund.
