LETTER: Played three winning hands

There have been three pieces of good news recently. Firstly, cycling on the promenade has been blocked. To allow cyclists to whizz backwards and forwards on the promenade would have caused mayhem and seriously damaged Eastbourne’s tourist trade.

Secondly, the pier’s golden domes have been sanctioned and the pier is fast becoming Eastbourne’s jewel in the crown. Thirdly, the seafront gourmet restaurant has been aborted. In it’s place we can now have a good class restaurant to serve visitors and residents alike.

Our council is to be congratulated on its plans for the theatre complex and the Arndale extension project. Surely they will have the vision to accept that fate has played them three more winning hands!
