LETTER: Our thanks to the knitters

The Friends of the Eastbourne Hospital have been doing a lot of knitting for us in the dementia care team at the DGH.

They have been helping with a project by making twiddle mitts for our patients. These are a sensory hand muff that are adorned with buttons, ribbons etc. They are especially good for our patients who have a dementia as they provide comfort for restless hands and can lessen anxiety. The mitts are single patient use so we need a big stock of them, and they have been busy knitting away for several months now making an array of many beautiful twiddle mitts for our patients.

Their work in helping us with this project is very important and much appreciated. If anyone would be interested in helping to make more twiddle mitts or sensory blankets for us please get in contact with the Dementia Care Team at the Eastbourne hospital.
