LETTER: Our filthy streets

I was happy when I read that Eastbourne was in the top ten of most unhealthy towns. My first thought was, good, perhaps something will be done to clean up our filthy dirty streets. I was disappointed to read further, it was not to be. Instead the complaint was the shops in the town who are trying to make a living. The rubbish deposited on our footpaths, shopping centre, seafront, roadside - surely we have enough eyesores with broken pavements, potholes, to say nothing about the state of the doors, both glass and wood, below the bandstand on the lower prom. Even after all the money that has been spent there.
