LETTER: Not a new hat – a lecture

When I read MP Caroline Ansell’s column about an event to prove where her family heart lies, I thought ... a christening? A new hat for a wedding perhaps? A fond farewell at a funeral? Or more mundanely a tray of freshly baked jam tarts pulled from an oven?

It was a lecture from Mr Iain Duncan Smith MP, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
