Someone everywhere knows somebody who has been adversely affected by policies that the Lib Dems and the Tories introduced. ‘Tactical’ voters locally, who in 2010 voted for Stephen Lloyd in order to stop the Tories controlling Eastbourne, must be surely be questioning their decision. They have since seen his party, in partnership with the Tories, introduce some very toxic policies such as the Health and Social Care Bill and the Bedroom Tax. Eastbourne, like the rest of the country, is experiencing a rise in the working poor, food bank users, homeless people and cuts to public services.
Mr Lloyd voted in favour of the above bill that has led to the downgrading of our hospital which he is supposedly trying to now help ‘save’ and, although he does not use the words ‘Lib Dem’ on any of his publicity, he apparently still represents that party.
Labour are gathering momentum here and voters who believe in a fairer, more equal society should no longer vote tactically but instead support the only major party guaranteed to protect the NHS and not to sell out to the Tories.
