When the Lib Dem manifesto dropped through my letter box I noticed that there was no window display poster enclosed, although all the other parties had enclosed one with their literature, so I went to the Lib Dem office to collect one.
When I enquired why no household had received a poster I was informed that it was deemed unnecessary as Eastbourne was a ‘safe seat’. I was so disturbed by this statement that when I returned home I wrote to Stephen Lloyd’s campaign manager pointing out that most of my friends, although they admired Stephen Lloyd, were voting Conservative as they did not want Labour to win and my female friends were voting for Caroline Ansell as they thought there were not enough women MPs. I said if the Lib Dems did not ‘up their game’ Stephen Lloyd would lose his seat!
I even enclosed £20 towards printing further posters for delivery to people’s homes (which they did not do).
I hope he follows David Miliband’s path and goes to work for a major charity, where his hard work, kindness and compassion would be appreciated and Eastbourne can sink back into mediocrity.
