LETTER: Learn more about windmill

Wednesdays in August at Willingdon/Polegate Windmill are always very special for both parents and children, and all special sessions include a guided tour of the mill in with the price.

August 6 : Historical Cooking.

Two sessions from 11am to 1pm or 2.30pm to 4.30p.m. Price is £3per child and £1 per adult.

Organiser Patricia Stevens will show children where food comes from and their seasonal availability at different periods in time. She will be cooking using a clay oven as well as an open fire. Contact Patricia on 01323 734496.

August 13: Art for All from 2pm to 5pm. Price is £1 per child £1 per adult - art materials are supplied. Artist Peter Martin will explain all about perspective and observation so that the budding artist has a firm grounding to draw a picture that will always remind them of an enjoyable time at the mill. August 20: A New Way to Learn About the Windmill, with quizzes, puzzles, crosswords and observation of the interior and exterior of the mill and milling museum. Something for all ages, from 2pm to 5pm. Price is £1 per child and the organiser is Sandra Creasy (01323 736899).

August 27, from 2pm to 5pm, there will be a general open day of the mill and milling museum. Remember to book in advance with the event organiser.
