LETTER: Is Communist dust in Meads?

In these uncertain political times I always find solace in this thought.

When Friedrich Engels died in 1895, he asked for his ashes to be scattered from Beachy Head.

I always like to imagine that some of them blew into Meads and that even today some are still blowing around and that some of the village’s most die-hard Conservative residents are breathing in ‘Communist dust’!
