I was very disappointed to read in The Herald [February 26] that our Eastbourne MP ‘has not made up her mind how I will vote’ in the EU referendum. She apparently wants to ‘hear a great deal more’.
I can tell her that she will not hear ‘a great deal more’ facts simply because, on the Brexit side, there aren’t any. We simply do not know how acrimonious the divorce would be in the event of a Brexit and what kind of deal would emerge. The one fact we do know is that the markets gave their verdict very clearly after Boris Johnson joined the Brexit campaign as the pound slumped against the euro and the dollar.
The arguments could have not been put more clearly by her leader in the Commons last week and I would expect more than a ‘don’t know’ from our representative there.
