LETTER: Free pub crawl with parents

Congratulations to Fred and Phyllis Thomas on their 75th wedding anniversary last month. Various licensed premises in our town advertise free beer for anyone over 75 if accompanied by their parents. The Licensing Act 1872 created the offences of being drunk whilst in charge of a horse, child, carriage, cart or firearm but thankfully did not include zimmers, walking sticks, wheeled-walkers or crutches. Watch out Eastbourne as my parents and I will be going on the lash around town in nine months time!

Bryan Thomas (their son)
